Brief history

The French "Bibliothèque du Centre de géographie" was founded in 1927 and has a partnership with the Bibliothèque de la Sorbonne since 1978. Its first manager was the well-known French geographer Emmanuel De Martonne.

The library was  renovated in 1999, and since this time, our public may access directly a part of collection : manuals, usual serials (more than 170 titles).

Opening times

Monday to Friday : 8h30 AM - 6h00 PM
Saturday : 9h00 AM - 1h00 PM
The Library is closed during 1 week (Christmas and Easter) and also in August

Collections

The library is mainly devoted to geography.

  • 95 000 monographs
  • 4 600 serials
  • 350 video documents
  • 250 CD-ROM
  • 7 000 maps (more than 100 000 sheets), aeroposters, mural maps...

Catalog

You can access our online catalog to search the collections (except a big part of maps to search in our card files).

ILL
