DESUP International tourism

"the French approach"

The Diplôme d’Enseignement Supérieur (DESUP) Tourisme International [Diploma of Higher Education in International Tourism] The French approach is a postgraduate course program lasting 18 weeks (from November 2012 to February 2013). It is primarily intended for professionals of international tourism and higher education graduates wishing to acquire highly specialized knowledge of French tourism know-how. It is open to professionals through a process of validation of professional experience and to students who can demonstrate a level of higher education that is equal to four years or more.

Lessons are given in French and English.

The classes are taught both by Sorbonne professors and travel and hotel management professionals from major groups and French tourism companies. Lessons alternate with visits to tourist sites and companies in and around Paris.

After a core curriculum stage, the course offers a choice between two options: tourism development and hotel management. A short internship (4 weeks minimum) at a partner company takes place at the end of the course.

The course includes two research trips in major French tourist areas (the Riviera, the Châteaux of the Loire Valley, the Alps, etc.).

The course fees (€ 5,000) include all classes, the facilities made available to students, company visits and research trips.

The course is organized in collaboration with many companies and tourism institutions such as the Office du tourisme et des Congrès de Paris, Club Med, Accor, Pierre et Vacances, Atout France, etc.
