Structure of the program


 60 ECTS (European Credit Transfert System) are required to graduate


 In order to graduate, the students must, depending on their specialty, validate a certain number of courses, with three or six ECTS units, and an internship, so as to obtain a total of 60 ECTS.


The year is divided into three quarters

Each one of the first two quarters is composed of 10 weeks of courses. The third quarterr (at least five months) is devoted to the internship.  

 
Courses: 45 ECTS*


There are two formats of  basic courses :
36 hours (4 hours weekly over a 9 week period) that is 6 ECTS
18 hours (2 hours weekly over a 9 week period) that is 3 ECTS


The first quarter is devoted to fundamental courses and corresponds to 27 ECTS.

The second quarter is devoted to advanced courses and corresponds to 18 ECTS.


Master  thesis: 15 ECTS*


In order to obtain the degree in the MMMEF, the students must complete a research thesis which is presented to a jury. This thesis can either be prepared in a research center or as a part of an internship in the private sector which must last for at least 5 months.
 


Choosing a track

 
Each student enrolled in MMMEF must choose a track. This choice must be discussed with the Professor in charge of the track and be approved by the director of the program MMMEF. There are three main tracks.


Track 1: Mathematical models in economics and games    (J. Abdou)
Track 2: Quantitative finance  (D. Guégan)
Track 3: Optimization, control, operations research  (M. Grabisch)
