Organization of studies

At the end of the cursus, the students of the Magistère obtain two diploma:

  • The "Magistère in international relations and foreign action" diploma, which is a university degree, recognized by the French Ministry for Education.

  • The "European studies and international affairs" master degree of the Sorbonne University, which is a state diploma, included in the european organisation of studies (LMD).

Specific teaching methods

The magistère focuses on developing team work, and on making students familiar with oral interventions.

Thus, studies of practical studies and working in small group are some aspects of the specific teaching in the MRIAE.

A great personal work is required. The students have access to a specific library, owned by the MRIAE, as well as an access to the Sorbonne university library.

At the end of the internship in the third year, students must provide a report dealing with their internship activities. This report will be marked by a teacher and a professional.

In the third year, students must also provide a 60 pages dissertation on a freely choosen subject, prepared along with a teacher during the second and the third year.

Graduation

The MRIAE graduation takes into account the academic results of the three years for each student.

These academic results include the dissertation presented in front of a board of examiners during the first term of the third year, the second year results and the results of the final exam in the third year.

The exam session in first year is disqualifying. Students can not repeat the first year.

The attendance to courses is compulsory.

The teacher fills an attendance register at the beginning of each lesson. Sanctions can be taken under the Director and the teacher responsability.

Tuition fees

The cost of tuition fees is decided by the Sorbonne University board of directors  and is between 200 and 300 euros per year.

Various costs can be expected: 200 euros in first year and in second year for the one-week field trip.

All courses take place in the Sorbonne
