Summer school - UFR27

About the Summer School

A Summer School is organized every year in Paris during the month of June and July. See here for the Calendar of the current year.

It provides three different curriculum to meet the needs from the applicants. These curriculum are connected to the Erasmus Mundus Master QEM and the MMEF programs. Applicants are strongly advised to state to which curriculum they are interested to follow in their motivation letter during the process of application.

Curriculum:

  • Opens internal link in current windowSummer Math Camp. It is addressed to students who do not have the prerequisites in mathematics to attend directly the Fall of the First year of the QEM Master or of the MMEF Degree and who want to take (or are asked to take) some courses to prepare the Fall semeste.

- attend the accelerated track of the Erasmus Mundus Master QEM. For this track, students need to take 30 ECTS credits in the Summer (with 30 ECTS credits recognized from their previous studies) and continue right after the second year of the QEM Master (60 ECTS credits). Details on the QEM accelerated track can be found here;

- have additional training of their first year of Master and prepare their second year (such as the QEM Master or of the MMEF Degree). Some courses can count in the curriculum of the first year and/or second year under the acceptance of the Director of studies the Master (within some credit limits);

- just for itself to take up to 30 ECTS offered the Summer semester including the courses of French language.

  • Opens internal link in current window Students can also combine different courses from some of the Summer Camps in order to build an individual schedule that meets their needs and interests, building up study periods between two and six weeks.

Fees:

They are specified for each Curriculum. Please note that there is no procedure of refunding: the fees paid are not refunded.

Unless otherwise specified, in average, for the Summer semester, the fee of each ECTS credit will be of 150 euros for every student (European and third-country students). Most of the students will be accepted for a complete program of 30 credits for which the fees will thus be 3000 euros, with the possibility to take extra credits, and in exceptional cases to have less than 30 credits in their Summer program (With a minimum of 6 ECTS credits).

Each language course (FFL1 or FFL2) is organized at the Alliance Francaise and is charged an additional fee (About 10 euros per hour of course). The first course can be taken in June (in the evening) and can be continued by the second one in July. As much as possible we will make these courses compatible with the time table of the Summer (but there is no guarantee that all conflicts will be avoided).

The fees do not cover copies, books, accommodation, meals, or general expenses. Students will have available University meals, access to the library and to a devoted computer lab. Moreover, the International Office has reserved University Housing at a special rate for Summer students, and will offer them their services. Please note that there is no procedure of refunding: the fees paid are not refunded.
