Officially established in January 2011 at the initiative of the Saoudi Ministry of Higher Education, the Chair of intercultural dialogue of Paris 1 Panthéon-Sorbonne University, created in partnership with al-Imam University (Riyadh), aims at promoting research on past and present cultural relations between Europe and the Arab world, putting them in the broader context of contemporary globalization. As a place of formation and diffusion of knowledge, it also seeks to promote a mutual thorough understanding of texts and vestiges of the past and a shared identification of intercultural contemporary dialogue issues.
